The Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs is excited to announce the launch of a new national event called Capital One Race for Kids that will take place in 17 communities all across the country this spring and is set to hit Kelowna.
Capital One Race for Kids is a return to the best adventures of childhood, embracing the carefree days of being a kid, and a bonding experience for participants as they challenge their skills and raise fund. Over a100 teams of 5 will be racing through the streets of Kelowna, in this Amazing Race meets Minute-to-Win-It style event.
Ten checkpoints will be set up among local businesses through Kelowna. At these checkpoints, teams will compete in fun and innovative challenges, which once successfully completed, will give them clues to determine the final location in a race to the finish line. It’s a chance to involve our community as well as local business in an exciting new and unique event offering “a great time to change lives”.
Capital One Race for Kids will give all Canadians an opportunity to have the adventure of a lifetime, while helping Boys and Girls Clubs give all kids a life of adventure.

This annual event sees participants swimming 3.1 or 7 km. Swimmers will swim to Rattle Snake Island (located directly across Peachland and is the largest island in Okanagan Lake). Registration required.

This first class golf tournament features 18 holes on one of the Okanagan’s most prestigious championship golf courses, power cart, lunch, the Harvest’s premium bbq dinner, prizes and great fun in support of the kids. All proceeds go directly to supporting children, youth and families across the Valley through the programs and services offered by the Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs.

This world class sporting event is a full length triathlon that includes both an Elite and Junior Elite race as well as a number of other events for every ability, age and experience level. Located in downtown Kelowna, the entire course is spectator-friendly. The Elite event is an important race to determine standings in the National Team.

The Polar Bear Swim is an annual Peachland event that takes place in January. This event requires those brave enough to endure the chilly waters of Lake Okanagan. Hot chocolate and lots of encouragement will be served at this winter event. The Polar Bear swim is free and requires pre-registration.

This annual event involves soloist racers and teams of two to seven athletes who race a six legged race spanning 95 kilometers. Beginning on the slopes of Big White, athletes will alpine ski, Nordic ski, mountain bike, road cycle, run and canoe/kayak to the shores of City Park in Kelowna.
